TECHMAGIC Rolls Out Cooking Robot “I-Robo2” at First Restaurant Location

Last month, TECHMAGIC announced the first installation of its cooking robot “I-Robo2” at Osaka Ohsho Saginuma Ekimae Dori. Compared to the previous model, “I-Robo2” is more compact and offers improved operability, aiming to address labor shortages in the restaurant industry. It accurately replicates high-temperature cooking, ensuring consistent quality and contributing to improved kitchen efficiency and workforce reduction.

The robot’s main feature is its ability to replicate the skills of seasoned chefs, delivering high-quality dishes quickly. By improving heat conduction, it speeds up high-temperature cooking, crucial for Chinese cuisine, enhancing customer satisfaction through faster service.

Additionally, “I-Robo2” has significantly reduced cleaning time from approximately 60 seconds to as short as 15 seconds, allowing staff to focus on other tasks and further improving overall kitchen efficiency. Its space-saving design makes it easy to install even in limited kitchen areas, potentially expanding future installations.

The original “I-Robo” was first tested at Osaka Ohsho Nishi-Gotanda in October 2023. After expanding installation to stores with different customer demographics, positive outcomes such as an increase in average spend per customer and a rise in customer count were observed. Based on feedback from these results, the “I-Robo2” was refined.

TECHMAGIC’s collaboration with Osaka Ohsho is part of a broader effort to reduce labor demands and enhance service, positioning automation technology as a promising solution to labor shortages across the restaurant industry.
